Tree Scouting!

We always go up to Crossnore the day before Thanksgiving to look for our perfect Christmas Tree. Our favorite place the last couple of years has been Twin Pines Nursery. It is one of the smaller tree farms there, but boasts beautiful trees and wreaths.

It's beginning to look alot like............the end of fall!

Yep, so just a few house pictures to fill up some blog space...and to finish out the fall season with pictures before, ahem, CHRISTMAS!! Ha! Did I say Christmas...of course I did. Most presents are purchased and I'm itching to get my decorations out, so at the end of this week, they will be removed from storage. A few that are stored in my closets will be taken out probably tomorrow.

I wanted to show off some new landscaping and a really pretty tree in my front yard since the color wasn't as spectacular this year in the mountains...at least not when I was there.

I wanted something to hide the electrical junk, so the Wilson Brothers came out and planted several tall growing things. I think it will look nice once everything grows a little more. Those Wilson twins, by the way, are AWESOME landscapers!! (In Beth terms, that means they're nice looking (very nice looking) dudes! I put the rock around the edges myself and those two you see right there are too big...gotta get a couple of more if I can ever remember to get some. We had already started losing mulch with heavy rain.

And in other news, it's almost time for: CAROLINA BASKETBALL!!!

A collage of Carolina stuff in our house that Brooke put together. She is doing a good-sized project on Roy Williams. We wrote him a letter and got a return letter with pictures signed of the 2009 championship team. And over 20 years ago, I danced at Carolina on the dance team. Check this out.....and ooohhh, look at all the big hair!! Ha! I still like big hair.

Haha...this cracks me up!! I'm standing...leaning against the column.

And if the cuteness scale needs to be tilted just slightly, well...here ya go. Dashey (Dasher) just loves to pose and Macy just loves to be lazy...even with the mousepad propped on her belly.

Sorry those two are blurry!

A Day Trip to Linville!

This past weekend, we headed to Marion since it will be the last weekend for a long while before we can go again. We hung out at Mom's and then headed to Linville for the day on Sunday. The leaves were beautiful, but not as vibrant as they were last year. Here's our weekend in pics!!

Punkins, Punkins everywhere!

Love fall! Love decorating for fall, especially outside. Check out all the punkins!

This is what I created at Mom's house on her front porch, inspired of course, by Southern Living. My Daddy would have loved this as much as Mom did!

Love this....a field full of pumpkins at Carrigan Farms.

At my house!

Stone Mountain, NC!

Sunday's beautiful weather lured us into the mountains for a day of hiking. I had always heard of Stone Mountain in North Carolina, but had never been there. I had been to the Stone Mountain in Georgia on my senior trip.....oooohhhh, SEVERAL years ago. Anyway, we took off Sunday morning for a day trip.....and only an hour away, we started our hike....and we hiked....and we hiked...and a gazillion miles later, or so it seemed, we conquered the mountain. Really, it was only five miles. A good workout too, which with me, is mandatory!

The beginning of our hike. Cammie forgot her jacket, so she wrapped up in a blanket...but shed it soon!

At the bottom of the falls.

"Rotten Bananer". It's really a leaf, but Brooke was in rare form.

She decided she wanted to be a super hero. Glad she didn't think about jumping off the rock to see if she could really fly! Silly Goose!

Holding up the rock!

Resting after 3 million stairs....and 1.5 miles to go!

We did it!

Yes, we did it. Now, can we please take a nap or go home.....either would be fine!

What a day!!
