Cancun, Mexico!

Thomas is very good at what he does and his company rewarded the winners of the Circle of Excellence Awards with trips to Cancun, Mexico this week. It was great fun to meet people from all over the nation. I made several new friends. Thank you, Thomas for working so hard. Congratulations! Legrand NA is a very good company and Thomas can sell the daylights out of some stuff!

We arrived in Cancun Tuesday afternoon at the Moon Palace, which is truly unbelievable. It is beautiful. Check out this pool, and if I'm not mistaken, this hotel boasts the largest pool in Mexico.I couldn't even get it in all the pictures.

This is John and Mary Waite. Thomas works with John down in Charlotte. We had a great time with them all week.

Check out the water. It's beautiful and so clear. And, while this is the very best resort in Cancun, we took an afternoon Friday to spend at a sister resort down the road just to see the water. Just wait.....

Two trips on the Hobie Cat! Oh, so much fun. We had never done this ever, ever, ever. We would have signed our life away here in the US, but there, they knew we had no experience whatsoever and still sent us on our way in a split second. They really were not worried about it. Captain Jeff took the lead.....

Before I show you pictures of turquoise water, check out our room.

Everything was marble. And because it was all-inclusive, check this out. This cracks me up. I didn't partake, at least not of this, but look.....

Free reign to this and whatever alcohol you could possibly think of! They even offered tequila at breakfast. I thought that was so funny and so funny to see how many people were drinking at 8 in the morning. I had a few drinks of choice.....my favorites.....frozen electric lemonade and frozen amaretto sours. Oh Dear!!!!!

The waitress brought one and Thomas brought one (electric lemonades). I hated to waste them, so....I didn't.

Here's the turquoise water. Oh my goodness, it looks like blueberry kool-aid.

High about this lovely water was the pool where Jeff and Amy Weir and Jim and Gloria Waddell hung out with us. We had so much fun. We played BINGO in the pool. Too bad Gloria didn't win, she'd have to 'GUACAMOLE, GUACAMOLE, GUACAMOLE'!!!! HE HE!

Better if that dance was left for Friday night, among other things!!! Oh by the way, Jim (in the middle) looks like Nicholas Sparks. Seriously. And, I didn't win so I did not get to GUACAMOLE!

Jeff and Amy; Jim and Gloria; us!

No pictures were taken Friday night at the beach party. Probably a good thing; but when ya'll see Thomas, let him tell you about me and Mr. DJ (who, by the way, looked a little like Mario Lopez, except taller). Not bad on the eyes! I got to dance my heart out. Thomas doesn't dance alot, but DJ Colby (Horatio is his real name) danced with me with Thomas' blessing, of course. Thomas just wanted me to get it out of my system. DJ referred to me as "Miss North Carolina" all evening. It was hilarious. He even let me help lead in some of the dances. So much fun.

But, the very best part of the trip.....

coming back home to the two sweetest girls in the world, Brookie's homemade chocolate fondue, and Nana (who had cooked fried chicken). We even had welcome signs on the door...homemade, no doubt. Now, that's a reward!!!!

2nd Annual Toenail Shot!

The girls and I went to Serenity Spa today after school for pedicures and manicures. We had a great time. Mom had given all of us gift certificates for Christmas, and with sandals and Cancun on the very, very near horizon, it just seemed like a perfect day to do the spa thing!!!

Whose is whose?

Easter, 2009!

What a beautiful day it was yesterday. Blessings surrounded us all day (as usual). We were here (I'm still here) in Marion for a good long weekend. I got to visit alot....Christal, Amanda, Greg's family and in-laws, Mom's side of the family, and of course my favorite Mother. Following is a plethora of photos from the weekend. There's a bunch, so I apologize in advance.
We had several Easter egg hunts. Lots of fun!

The best hidden Easter egg!

Signs of Spring!

On Saturday, we took the kids down to the cemetery. I had already taken spiced jelly beans and spread them on his grave on Friday, but Nana had some flowers that she wanted them to help with. Mom has continuously kept Daddy's resting place beautiful.

We then decided to head over to Pleasant Gardens playground. It's a fun little spot to play!

Check out the monkies!

Whadaya mean....'can you still do that'? Of course I can! I'm only 40! (This is on a balance beam, by the way....)

My sweet baby chicks!

Lake Norman State Park

It used to be Duke Energy State Park...didn't know the name had changed. It's just a couple of miles from my house. We've been there a couple of times to hike, but it has been a while. I went yesterday with Cotton Ketchie to take some pictures...a few of me for Facebook and a few of the park. Here's a little of what we saw.

This is the old pavillion at the park...a ways from the new one. I still love this one.

The water is pretty muddy after all that rain.

Kisses to ya!!!

Can't get to heaven in a red canoe, 'cause God's favorite color is CAROLINA BLUE!!! That's why they're docked!

So springy and pretty!

This is the new pavillion built a couple of years ago. It's very nice....with a large beach area and plenty of swimming space. Several lifeguards work the area during swimming season.

The water near the new pavillion wasn't nearly as muddy...as a matter of fact, pretty clear. This is a gorgeous area.

This is Cotton (Ketchie). Ya'll need to check out his pictures on facebook. They're awesome! Thanks Cotton!
