In my mind I'm going to Carolina.....

or maybe Detroit, MI!!! Woohoo, Carolina won today. We beat Oklahoma by 12! Carolina led the whole game....had some foul trouble early on but straightened out....obviously. I had some nerve trouble early on so.....

I did this......

.....while he did this. How do you stay so calm in situations like this?!?!

Now, it may be my imagination, but I'm just guessing that God is a Tarheel fan.....

WOW, what a beautiful CAROLINA BLUE SKY!!

YEP!

Aahhh, Macy...are you a Carolina fan too?

Hopefully, we can turn it BLUE in Detroit for a couple of more games. GO TARHEELS!!

Oh Yeah!

GO HEELS!!! So here's the short story.....the game started at 10 last night. I go to bed by 10 so this was going to be a problem. After we all got home from the gym last night, we decided to go to Starbucks for coffee and hot chocolate. I knew this would be the perfect fix as I usually don't drink caffeine past 5 or 6 in the evening. We went about 8:15. I figured I'd be bouncing off the walls.

Pajamas on....ready to watch the Heels play....doing just great and quite excited....right up until I got all comfy and snug and warm in my chair.......IT DIDN'T WORK!!! THE CAFFEINE DIDN'T WORK!!! I fell asleep right about half time. Poor Thomas had one asleep upstairs, one asleep on the couch (Cammie) and I was asleep in the chair. He couldn't whoop and holler, but he was a strong, silent fan pulling for our team!!

Now we're ready for the Elite Eight on Sunday against Oklahoma!!!! We beat Gonzaga 98-77! YEAH!!

(You liked that game, didn't you Daddy???!!!!)

Update!

The floor was finished Tuesday afternoon. The clean-up was just a lovely process as top to bottom had to be dusted. But hey, I have a very clean house and ya'll know how I like a clean house!!
Check it out. The floor looks different in light. We love it....and I know ya'll love my photography complete with the shaky camera and unbelievable shots!

Brookie presents a 'Beanie Baby' show with her collection of 87! Her favorites are Doby the dog; Lani the original Beanie; and Snacks the black bear!

Got Milk! Partial afternoon snack as she's famished by the time she gets home from school. I only feed her on Fridays and Tuesdays!

It's here.....

complete with allergies, cleaning, softball, and blooms! Woohoo, spring is finally here. It was a beautiful weekend. I think we have a couple of more days before more rain kicks in.
This was an early foggy morning a few days ago. Kind of eerie looking back behind the house and up the hill.

Blooms, blooms, blooms.....and allergies, allergies, allergies...and zyrtec, zyrtec, zyrtec!!!

Oh yeah, and we can't forget the NCAA tournament. Go Heels! I'd loooovvvveeee to see Roy and the Boys pull out a championship. I'd love to see them play!

The other thing going on right now is this......

We're having wood flooring installed in the kitchen; should have done it originally (5 years ago), but didn't. Our color of flooring is going to be discontinued so at last, we decided to do it. The downstairs is a bevvy of dust and unorganized chaos. Brooke has her little living space holed out and thinks its the greatest thing since...ice cream. She even made a sign that says, "Queen Brooke sits here--DO NOT SIT HERE! She thinks it's cool because she's got the computer, TV, fridge, kitchen table, trash can and telephone all in her little space and she hardly has to put a foot on the floor to get to anything.

Meanwhile....

Cammie can't stand the mess ( alot like her Mother, I believe.....) She and Ashley decide to get out of dodge and head outdoors to Ashley's trampoline.

My newest addition to the patio/porch. Isn't this a cool lounger with the cover on it?

Cammie's Birthday Partay!!

It's been a week since Cammie turned 12, but the first chance to celebrate with a party. The first part of March has been incredibly busy. So, we packed 10 girls into cars and headed to Hickory to Skateland USA where we met Seth, Brittany, Greg, Amy, and Nana. Nana had met Demetria in Old Fort to pick up Cammie's birthday cake. It was sooooo cute. Take a look.

Cammie blew out her 12 candles. Oh my gosh.....is she really twelve??? Ugh, I can't think about it!

I'm sure they'd all want their names on the blog, so here goes......Izzy, MadiKat, Seth, Brittany, Brooke, Cami, Natalie, Kayla, Cammie, Sarah, Emma, and Ashley. Whew!! We were missing two...Katy and Octavia.

Brooke even made a checklist for the guests when they arrived at the house.Cammie got some cooool gifts - everything from scrapbooking stuff to gift cards to Old Navy to purses and clothes and money. Merciful!

Pizza, cake, ice cream, drinks. Yum!

Brooke was ready early for the party.

This is my sweet 12-year-old!

Happy Birthday, Cammie Cadiddlehopper (as Pappy would call her)!

I'm free, I'm free!

I got to take my lovely boot off today, but I cheated and took it off yesterday. Woohoo! I'm free, I'm free! Still gotta wait four more weeks before I can run, which is killing me, but the boring elliptical will have to do for now. I've also been walking too and it felt sooo good. My toe didn't hurt, but my ankle was very weak. It has been so stabilized for a month that I just need to build up the strength.

I should've taken a picture, but I didn't. I replaced my boot with yet another pair of cool new shoes. Nobody in my house likes them but me!! Of course - a pair of summer clogs...they're white with flowers on them.....and a pair of purple (dark lavender, actually) capri overalls to match. When I picked up Cammie yesterday, she said, "Mom, you look like a painter." The other 2 out of 3 in my house like my 'oveeee-allls' as Brooke and Cammie used to call them when they were little.

Everybody should have some purple oveeeeee-allls, don't you think?!?

Riverdance and other important Sunday stuff!

Thank you the most my dear and loving and perfectly wonderful Mother!

Mom bought all of us tickets for today to see Riverdance down at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte. The performance was the most amazing show I have ever seen and was also the farewell tour. There was an enormous amount of talent on stage... everything from the dancing to the singing and of course the orchestra. The drummer, especially was unbelievable (and no he wasn't cute!)! The dancers of course were my favorite, but then every single number I saw I would say it was my favorite.

The cuties...outside of Ovens Auditorium.

When we all got to our house, Cammie opened her birthday presents from Nana. Yes, she got spoiled. Oh yeah, and she did, by the way get her cell phone from us for her big day - an Envy 2.

The girls were ready to eat, and it was okay for them to eat during the big game and watch it at the same time. What? Game? Yes, THE BIG ONE....Carolina played Duke and beat'em by 8 points. We got to see the last half of the game after driving SLIGHTLY over the speed limit back from Charlotte. Meanwhile, Seth finds his perch on my kitchen counter to watch the game at close range while the big boys watch the big TV.

I'm a Tarheel born, I'm a Tarheel bred...................................

You taught us well, PAPPY!!

March Birthdays!

So, this week is full of interesting stuff. Snow, Odyssey of the Mind competition at Wingate College, Riverdance (post later on this) and BIRTHDAYS! Thomas turns 44 on March 6th and Cammie turns 12 on March 7th. We had to celebrate Thomas' special day on Monday night since this week's calendar is full.

Thomas and Macy. Macy thinks she's alpha dog.....right up until Thomas enters the room, and then...she knows!

Brookie baked her Daddy a chocolate cake all by herself, complete with 44 candles on it! Cammie is usually the master present wrapper, but she had hours of Odyssey of the Mind practice on Sunday.

Fire extinguisher, please!

Her Cuteness is requesting a cell phone with unlimited texting for her birthday. HHHHMMMMMMMMM....wonder if she'll get one?

Snow Daze!

We got a good snow Sunday night and on into Monday. About five inches, I'd say and enough that the girls could have some fun. Macy had a ball too, as this was her first snow. Our back yard was messed up within minutes of letting her out yesterday morning. The girls were out playing by 7:00 am or so. We also lost power for about 12 hours or so. What an adventure...and what an adventure today of getting to wash a Himalayan size mound of clothes and snow stuff after not being able to yesterday. Talk about a daze......
In pajamas in the early AM, and Macy is so excited and strong that she can just about pull Cammie across the snow. She can definitely pull Brooke; she does it all the time in our den.

Of course, a snow day is not a snow day without hot chocolate and.....

snow cream!!!

High on the hill was a lonely goat herd.....

lae-deo-de-lae-deo-de-lae-HE-WHO!!!!!! That's one of my favorite silly songs (at silly times). It was perfect for this weekend. Since Christal and I aren't going to Sanibel Island this year, we decided to get away for a girls' weekend up at Pigeon Forge in a beautiful rented cabin. The other big reason we went...Christal turned forty earlier this month so it was her birthday party weekend. I do have to say...we girls can have some fun; and I'll leave it at that!!!!!

Before we really even took the time to look around, I made Christal open her presents and see her cakes.
This is my favorite gift I got her. It says, "I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food."
Check out these cakes. Demetria Gilliam-Williams made these. She's the cool chick that made my birthday cake back in November. A friend of Amanda's and now my friend as well, she has got some kind of talent!! The coffee cups and saucers are edible and the chocolate cake inside is combined with chocolate mousse filling and coffee-buttercream icing. Heavenly!! Ya'll check out her blog noted on mine and order some cakes - she's awesome!
Check out this view! All I can say is.... with a driveway like we had to go up and a nervous driver (me), we better have had a good view!! Ha! We were literally hanging on the side of a mountain. The good thing was that the hot tub on the deck was facing this view, so lots of time was spent in the hot tub reading and singing 'high on the hill'....

A couple of cabin pictures....the owners had the cabin decorated with bears. This Mama bear and her cub were hanging in the rafters. Very cute.

Here I am snuggled up and waiting for Christal to get the stupid TV to work. OMG.....could it get any more complicated. I didn't want to show her up with my technological expertise....as most of you know, I am incredibly talented in the areas of technology and driving directions...two areas at which I excelled this weekend. Anyway, I just kinda supervised and let her show off some of her skills! HEHEHEHEHE!!!

The Supa Speeda Reada! She read an entire book in one day. Could I have been shown up any more than that? Nah, just kidding. Again, as you may have read in other posts, if I could sit down for more than two seconds at a time, I may could read more than three pages at a time. I have a problem relaxing....but I did okay this weekend, didn't I Chris-tyal?

Last but not least, two signs that may rank as my favorite. After all, I am Mountain Chick, Thomas is known as B D Rooster because he can crow like one and my girls are my baby chicks. All their friends get called little chickens at my house. I stopped by this lovely living arrangement to ask these people if I could take a picture of the signs and they didn't mind....as the rooster crowed in the background. We have laughed about this all weekend.

So anyway, we had a great time this weekend. Happy Birthday, Christal!!!
